The Creek County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Officer Glory successfully aided deputies in a drug bust Monday afternoon, alerting them to the presence of methamphetamine in a vehicle on South 49th West Avenue.

Deputies arrested Jerry L. Lance, 50, and Bonnie Keeter, 28, both of Sapulpa.

Sheriff’s Office records showed detectives received information about a possible methamphetamine cook at a residence in the 10600 block of S. 49 W. Ave.

When deputies arrived they saw a black BMW in the driveway. There were two people sitting in the car.

As deputies exited their vehicle, Lance got out of the passenger’s side of the BMW.

They told him why they were there and asked him for consent to search his residence. He gave verbal consent.

Lance took deputies inside.

On the coffee table in the living room, there was a corner of a baggie containing methamphetamine. Scales, iodine and a set of spoons with white residue on them were also found.

They placed Lance under arrest. After deputies read Lance his Miranda rights, he told them he understood his rights and would talk with them.

He said he knew nothing except Keeter comes over to his house to use methamphetamine. He told deputies the spoons belonged to her.

He said she put some syringes and spoons in her purse which was inside the car.

Keeter was in the driver’s seat of the car. Deputies asked her for identification. She said she could not provide any. She identified herself as Bonnie Keeter.

Deputies said she was acting nervous. They asked her if she had anything illegal in the car and she said she did not.

They asked for consent to search the vehicle and she refused to give permission.

When officers asked her to step out of the vehicle, she refused. A deputy grabbed her arm and she pulled away from him and then got out of the vehicle.

Deputies called in the K-9 unit. When K-9 Officer Glory arrived, she conducted an open air search of the vehicle. During the search she alerted deputies to the presence of narcotics.

They then searched the vehicle. Inside Keeter’s purse deputies found used and unused syringes, a metal spoon with a powdery substance which tested positive for methamphetamine, a bag of methamphetamine, and a wooden box with a pipe full of marijuana.

Deputies then arrested Keeter.

They completed a search of the residence. In the trash next to the house, they found a jug, tubing, empty packages of meth ingredients, a plastic bottle and chemical-soaked towels.

Lance faces formal charges for possessing methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, endeavoring to manufacture methamphetamine and maintaining a dwelling where drugs are kept or consumed.

Keeter faces formal charges for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
